British food shepherd's pie

UK – Shepherd’s pie

4 persons – 4,60 € per person

Make the meat sauce:

  1. Fry (~ 10 min):
    • 800 g lamb mince
    • 2 onions
    • 2 carrots
    • 3 garlic gloves
    • rosemary
  2. Simmer (> 30 min):
    • 2 dl red wine
    • 2 dl beef stock
    • tomato paste
    • worcestershire
    • salt
    • pepper

Make the mashed potatoes:

  • 6 boiled potatoes
  • 100 g butter
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 100 g cheddar cheese
  • salt

Layer and bake in the oven (~ 15 min / ~ 200 C):

  • The meat sauce
  • The mashed potatoes

Serve with:

  • 200 g peas
  • 50 g butter
  • mint
